PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE THIS PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE IS TO INFORM YOU THAT THE STRATTON VA MEDICAL CENTER, LOCATED AT 113 HOLLAND AVE, ALBANY, NY 12208 WILL BE POSTING A SOLICITATION ON OR ABOUT July 18, 2024, FOR THE RENOVATE FOR CT A221-A223 PROJECT. The Stratton VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Albany, NY plans to renovate the Main Hospital s second floor, A-Wing Rooms A221, A222, and A223 totaling approximately 575 square feet to create one CT suite consisting of a CT scanner room and separate CT Control Room.
The existing space is used as a mammogram room (A221), an office (A222) and a Xray room (A223). This project is a site preparation project to renovate the existing rooms in preparation for an eventual high tech high-cost equipment purchase and install of a CT scanner and related ancillary equipment. The purchase of the CT scanner and installation of the CT scanner and associated equipment is by others and is NOT included in the work of this project. Protect all items and finishes to remain.
Repair any damage caused by construction to the original state or better. Contractor shall provide professional, full-time on-site supervision of the work. Contractor shall develop a schedule and conduct weekly construction meetings and prepare the meeting minutes. Contractor shall provide all required survey and testing work. Contractor shall review all shop drawings, submittals and RFIs prior to submitting to VA COR.
Once the construction is complete, the Contractor shall provide as built/red line drawings, in the form of a submittal, for VA review. All work shall be performed and accomplished according to Albany VAMC s contract specifications and drawings, including General Requirements, Safety, and Infection Control requirements. Coordinate all power and other utility shutdowns with the VA COR. Provide the VA COR a minimum 21-calendar day notice.
The prime contractor shall be responsible for assuring that all work is coordinated and performed during appropriate hours that will not interfere and/or interrupt the Stratton VA s daily activities.
Background: The Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center was constructed in the late 1940 s based upon plans by Green & James, Architects & Engineers, Buffalo, New York and Eggers & Higgins Architects & Engineers, New York, New York dated December 10, 1947. The primary 2A project area was last renovated in the early 2010s, for the previous construction of a Radiology wing. The departments surrounding the project area (adjacent and on neighboring floor) will remain operational throughout construction.
Coordinate with the VA COR, to schedule all work during the least disruptive timeframes to hospital operations. Roadway closures will not be permitted at any time or for any reason except with the written approval of the VA COR. This procurement will be a 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The NAICS code is 236220. The small business standard is $45 Million. The magnitude of construction per FAR part 36 is between $250,000 and $500,000.
