This action was awarded as an 8(a) Sole Source Set-Aside under the authority of section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. The contractor shall furnish all parts, material, labor, equipment and supervision necessary to complete the work for Building 66017 Repair Restrooms. Demolition Contractor must remove and dispose of existing ceiling grid, ceiling tiles, gyp ceilings, light fixtures, and mechanical diffusers and grills within scope of work boundary. (Approx. 150 Sq. Ft.)

Contractor must remove and dispose of existing restroom plumbing fixtures within SOW boundary. Contractor must remove and dispose of existing restroom walls within SOW boundary. Contractor must remove and dispose of existing exterior door and frame. Prep opening for wall infill. Contractor must remove and dispose of existing exterior metal steps. Contractor must remove and dispose of existing interior vestibule door and frame.

Contractor must remove and dispose of existing flooring and resilient wall base in existing restrooms and vestibule. All receptacles located within demolished walls must be removed and conduit and wiring must be removed back to nearest J-box. Contractor must remove and set aside existing drinking fountain for reuse in new work. All utility lines not reutilized in new work must be capped under floor or in nearest wall not being removed.

Contractor must remove and dispose of existing fire alarm pull station – wiring back to nearest J-box. Contractor must remove existing fire extinguisher and bracket and set aside for reuse in new work. Construction Contractor must construct new ceiling with metal studs and moisture resistant gypsum wall board in each restroom. Ceiling to be taped, textured, and painted (P-1). Contractor must provide and install new exhaust fan (EF-1) in each restroom as indicated on drawings.

Contractor must configure existing exhaust system to new fan locations. Exhaust fans must be connected to restroom light switch. Contractor must provide and install new LED light fixtures (LF-1) utilizing existing circuitry. Contractor must provide and install light switches with stainless steel cover plates for each restroom. Contractor must provide and install mechanical diffusers as indicated on plans, connect back to existing HVAC system.

Contractor must provide and construct new restroom partition walls as indicated on plans – wall construction to be moisture resistant gypsum wall board on metal studs. Studs to be metal 3-5/8” or 6” if required to facilitate plumbing. Contractor must tape, texture, and paint walls (P-2). Contractor must provide and install Fiberglass Reinforced Paneling wall covering up to 60” AFF around interior of restroom walls.

Contractor must provide and install new water closets (WC-1, WC-2) in each restroom, each water closet must be tied into existing utilities (supply water, sanitary drain) as required for proper functioning. Contractor must provide and wall mounted lavatories (LV-1) and faucet (FC-1) in each restroom, each lavatory must be tied into existing utilities (supply hot and cold water, sanitary drain) as required for proper functioning. Contractor must provide and install grab bars as indicated on drawings.

Installation must meet requirements of ANSI 117.1 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), current version. Contractor must provide and install shower surround, shower curtain rod, shower head with detachable wand. Shower pan and head must be connected to existing utilities (hot and cold supply water, sanitary drain) as required for proper functioning. Shower must meet requirements of ASNI 117.1 & ADA. Contractor must provide and install mirrors (M-1) at each lavatory.

Contractor must install government provided restroom accessories, including toilet paper dispensers, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and sanitary napkin waste cans. Contractor must provide and install new wood doors, hardware, and frames where indicated on drawings. Doors hardware must include privacy lock with occupancy indicator. Contractor must provide and install exterior infill wall at location of previous door.

Wall must be weatherproof, insulated and finished flush to match on both interior and exterior faces. Contractor must provide and install opaque privacy film at existing window. Contractor must install drinking fountain with bottle filler set aside during demolition at location indicated on drawing. Drinking fountain must be tied into existing utilities (supply water, sanitary drain) as required for proper functioning. Relocate existing light switch as required.

Contractor must reinstall existing fire extinguisher and bracket. Contractor must provide and install coat hooks in each restroom. Contractor must provide and install signage on restrooms complying with KAFB and ADA standards. Contractor must provide and install floor drain (FD-1). Contractor must install government furnished vinyl flooring (FL-1) and resilient wall base (WB-1) in SOW area.
