Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Preliminary stress test for CRIDA project in the Atuel Basin, Argentina

This is a special notice prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. A solicitation will not be posted. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to award a sole source firm fixed-price contract to College of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Cincinnati for services entitled "Preliminary stress test for CRIDA project in the Atuel Basin, Argentina".

Using available data, information and models, and contingent upon receiving sufficient support in these areas from local basin experts, with this contract, IWR seeks services to create a fully calibrated hydrological model, functioning weather generator, and preliminary stress test results for the Atuel River Basin of Mendoza and La Pampa provinces, western Argentina. The work will address both climate means and extremes. No competition is being sought.

The proposed Contractor, University of Cincinnati was a co-developer of the CRIDA framework . Any firm that believes it can meet this requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 15 days of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement.

Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
