Siemens NFS 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) software maintenance

The Army Contracting Command-Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA), Ml intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price delivery order for the procurement of commercial licenses for Siemens NFS 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) software maintenance.

Unless evidence is produced otherwise by an authorized reseller of manufacturers software, this procurement will be awarded without discussions as a sole source award to Siemens Government Technologies. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.

Specifically, FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) provides that supplies may be deemed to be available only from the original source in the case of a follow-on contract for the continued development or production of a major system or highly specialized equipment, including major components thereof.
