Solid State Media Cracker

This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested. The 108th Communications Squadron has a requirement for one (01) Data Security, Inc. CR-4KR - a Solid State Media Cracker. It is the governments intent to go sole source to Data Security Inc,0B8L1 as they are the manufacturer and sole provider of the CR-4KR Solid State Media Cracker; Data Security, Inc.0B8L1, and have no authorized distributors in the USA.

1.1 PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS Device will be operable by anyone with minimum training. It will need to be able to open smart phones, tablets and solid-state drives to allow quick and safe access to remove batteries and memory bearing circuits. Data Security, Inc. CR-4KR is the only device found to provide this service.

1.2 INCIDENTAL SERVICE: In addition to the supply (supplies) described above, the contractor shall also provide 1 year Parts, Labor and On-site service.

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.

Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. Oral submissions of information are not acceptable, and will not be accepted in response to this notice. Any information received will be treated as market research information for future same or similar requirements.

The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Brian Maloney, Contracting Officer, Brian.Maloney.5@us.af.mil, by August 2nd, 2024 01:00PM EST.
