Intent to Sole Source to Badger Meter

Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source: The MCIEast Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533, hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Badger Meter Inc., on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is to calibrate a mass flowmeter.

The applicable NAICS for this requirement is 811210 per the Performance Work Statement. Badger Meter Inc. is the only sole authorized provider of calibration for mass flowmeter for the Navy per OPNAVINST 3960.16B and SER 24-024. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Badger Meter Inc. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.

However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within four (4) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
