LXEZ171420; Repair Runway 05R/23L and Taxiway F

AWARD NOTIFICATION: Contract no. FA527025C0013 for Project/Title no. LXEZ171420; Repair Runway 05R/23L and Taxiway F, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan was awarded to SEIKITOKYU KOGYO CO., LTD. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This contract is for a design-build repair of Runway 05R/23L and Taxiway F. All work required to repair Runway 05R/23L and Taxiway F on Kadena airfield to a fully operational status.

This will comprise of full depth replacement existing concrete slabs and asphalt concrete shoulder to satisfy requirements stated in the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC). Remove and dispose of existing grass on AC shoulder and repaint pavement markings. Repair work includes, but is not limited to, removal and disposal of existing pavement, construction joint dowels, expansion joints, and asphalt shoulders.

Existing Pavement will be removed and recycled or disposed of in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations of the United States and Japan and will include all other work required to provide a complete and usable facility. All work shall be completed based on the latest guidance provided from the units such as Air Force Technical Orders and UFC/Kadena Design Guide Pavement Design and Marking for Airfield.

Sustainable principles, to include life cycle cost-effective practices, will be integrated into the design, development, and construction of the project in accordance with the UFC.
