DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project will repair Runway 05R/23L and Taxiway F on Kadena airfield to a fully operational status. This will comprise of full depth replacement existing concrete slabs and asphalt concrete shoulder to satisfy requirements stated in the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-260-01. Remove and dispose of existing grass on AC shoulder and repaint pavement markings. Repair work includes, but is not limited to, removal and disposal of existing pavement, construction joint dowels, expansion joints, and asphalt shoulders. Existing pavement will be disposed of in accordance with the Japan Environmental Governing Standards (JEGS), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and any other work required to provide a complete and useable facility. All work shall be completed based on the latest guidance provided from the units such as Air Force Technical Orders and UFC /Kadena Design Guide Pavement Design and Marking for Airfield. Sustainable principles, to include life cycle cost-effective practices, will be integrated into the design, development, and construction of the project in accordance with UFC 1-200-02. NOTE: This requirement will be performed in its entirety in the country of Japan. The successful Offeror must be licensed and registered to perform work in the country of Japan.
