Notice of Intent to Single Source Parts and Repair of CAT PM622 Cold Planer

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SINGLE SOURCE The 5th Contracting Squadron, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota intends to award a firm fixed price, single source supply contract to Thompson Tractor Co., Inc. for the parts and repair of a Caterpillar (CAT) PM622 Cold Planer. This commercial purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)13.106-1(b).

The predominant cost of this acquisition is anticipated to be the replacement rotating drum attachment; therefore, it is considered to be a supply in accordance with definition of "supplies" at FAR 2.101. The following Product Service Code (PSC) and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code have been assigned to this acquisition:

3805 - Earth Moving and Excavating Equipment NAICS: 423810 - Construction and Mining (except Oil Well) Machinery and Equipment Merchant Wholesalers All parts required for this repair must meet or exceed original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. All work must must be performed by CAT-certified technicians at the contractor's facility. All work must occur within 75 miles of Pensacola, FL.

This is a notice of the intent to award a single source contract in accordance with FAR 5.201(b)(1)(i). It is published for information purposes only and is not a request for competitive quotations; therefore no solicitation document exists for this requirement.

No responses to this notice of intent to single source are anticipated; however, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the supply listed. In accordance with FAR 5.203(a)(1), the deadline date for the submittal is 11:00am CDT on 21 August 2024. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
