The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), has a requirement for procurement of venue space for lodging, meeting space and audio/visual the upcoming meetings from May 14, 2025 through May 18, 2025. The intends to award a contract on a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Bartell Hotels (Division Name Sheraton La Jolla Hotel) 3299 Holiday Court, La Jolla, California 92037-1830.
For this procurement, the USPTO is exempt from the Competition in Contracting Act (CICA) as the subject requirement is being procured using the Alternative Competition Method in accordance with the Patent and Trademark Office Acquisition Guidelines (PTAG) and the Patent and Trademark Office Efficiency Act 35 U.S.C. 2(b)(4)(A).

We have identified Sheraton La Jolla is the only one hotel that was available and would accommodate the group’s size, offer the lowest lodging per diem rate, and a reasonable Food & Beverage minimum.
As a result, per PTAG 6.1.1 (d) the USPTO intends to negotiate and award a firm fixed price contract with Bartell Hotels to provide the required venue space for lodging, meeting space and audio/visual This requirement utilizes NAICS code 721110 and has a period of performance of May 14, 2025 through May 18, 2025. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals nor will a solicitation be issued to the public.
Any questions regarding this notice must be submitted in writing via email to the following point of contact or alternate point of contact no later than 5:00 PM EST on February 27, 2025.
