Info: MFR ID 96-DHCMGH-CP B Class Model Gear Unit Reduction: NSN 3020-XF-C11-6019 Input RPM 900 Output RPM 254 Gear ration 3.541:1 1.2 Background: CGC CYPRESS was asked as were all 16 of the WLB class, to do a urgent inspection of the LO System Flow from visible spray nozzles. After recent MRG failures the USCG is trying to identify any LO flow problems that can exacerbate the MRG aging issue prior to each Cutter’s scheduled future “Major Overhauls”.

Cypress reported after their inspection: A. Poor flow from Generator pinion 3 spray nozzles. It appears only a steady stream is coming from a single spray nozzle. B. A Bull Gear tooth has visible damage. It appears (USCG desire) that it can be mitigated by hand dressing/stoning.
