The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded a contract to Star Lighting & Supply, LLC, Oklahoma City, OK, for the acquisition of PAPI incandescent lamps. The PAPI system is the current standard Visual Glide Slope Indicator (VGSI) consisting of four light boxes arranged perpendicular to the edge of the runway. It projects a pattern of red and white lights that provide visual approach slope information. The PAPI lamps must be manufactured in accordance with attached FAA Specification FAA-E-2576B.

Known manufacturer is OSRAM Sylvania Inc., P/N 58708 or 64382 HLX-C. The lamps, covered by FAA specification FAA-E-2576B, are to be used for outdoor operation and to meet all lamp requirements of FAA-E2576B, to include sections 3.3.3 and 3.4. A market survey (6973GH-24-MS-00010) was posted to the SAM.gov web site on March 7, 2024. As a result of market analysis, this requirement was 100% set-aside for competition among small businesses.

Solicitation 6973GH-24-R-00205 was posted to the SAM.gov web site on July 30, 2024. Four timely proposals were received. Contract 6973GH-24-D-00084 was awarded on September 9, 2024 to Star Lighting & Supply, LLC for a total value of $1,574,250.00.
