The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Acquisitions Center, Commodities and Services Acquisition Service is pleased to announce the award of a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery – Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract Number 36C79125D0012, awarded against competitive solicitation 36C79125R0003 to MAK Engineering Service in the Total Estimated Contract Value of $42,841.25.
Contract Number 36C79125D0012 is a "No-Cost" or "Zero Dollar" ($0.00) Base FFP/IDIQ contract award, the obligation of Government funds occurs at the Delivery Order level.
This procurement is a follow-on effort to the current VA's Batteries 2020 Procurement Program FFP/IDIQ contracts, which expire on August 31, 2025. The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Acquisition Center, Denver Logistics Services identified a supply requirement for the continuous reordering of commercially available cell type batteries for use in prescribed medical devices to include hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive listening devices, other home telehealth equipment, and many prosthetic devices to meet eligible Veterans’ beneficiary medical needs.
The batteries in this requirement will range widely in sizes and types including, but are not limited to alkaline, lithium, NIMH, and zinc air type batteries. The types of batteries included in this requirement are readily available products in the commercial market, these batteries are designated as commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) items that are widely used for applications other than the Government’s needs.
All the various types of batteries in this requirement fit the definition of commercial items as set forth at Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 2.101. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 335910, Primary Battery Manufacturing. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 6135 – Batteries, Nonrechargeable and PCS Code 6140 - Batteries, Rechargeable. Periods of Performance are one (1) Base Year period of performance and four (4) one-year Option Year periods of performance as follows:
