This project will occur in two phases. Patients and VA staff will occupy all other spaces in building 11, E-wing. This will allow the contractor to lock out/tag out the E-wing MA, MV and O2 that supplies services to each patient room.
This is for safety. The contractor will have 2 weeks to complete phase 1. The VA will inspect the work and when approved will take 1 week to move patients into the phase 1 rooms with their devices and tanks. The contractor will then have 2 weeks to finish phase 2. VA expects the work to be completed within 5 weeks. Work will not start until all submittals are complete and all materials are on hand/site. Contractor shall purge the main/branch lines and certify according to the specifications.
Refer to the specifications for all work required for successful completion. Contractor shall ensure that all Class 4 ICRA requirements are met according to the permit. Provide a negative air machine in each patient room per phase. Route the exhaust outside the window. Secure with plywood to prevent unauthorized access into the rooms. Ensure that smoke is exhausted outside of the facility. VA FMS uses Anteroom by hepacart to satisfy the Class 4 ICRA requirements.
Contractor shall provide/rent/use something equivalent for this project. VA FMS will not provide these for this project. E-wing has wooden stud framing so contractor must take all precautions to prevent fire hazards. See specifications for additional requirements related to Fire and Life Safety.
