Proposed Biomedical workbenches will reduce liability issues and increase workflow satisfaction using the newest technology and quality standards. The brand name only Electro-Static Discharge workbench’s requested are also for uniformity within the Biomedical workshop. A standard is being set within the Biomedical shop to have all ESD workbenches for all Biomedical Equipment Support Special The estimated value of the proposed action is $18,000.00 4. Authority:

5. Rationale/explanation to support cited authority: Conducted market research according to FAR Part 10 using NAICS Code 337127 and key word” work bench and biomedical work bench.” This resulted in 494 SDVOSB vendors. Additional market research was conducted through GSA Advantage, GSA e-library, FPDS, SBA, DSBS, and VetBiz. GSA Advantage and GSA -library resulted in two SDVOSB. Two oral solicitations was distributed and there were no responses from synopsis/solicitation posted contract opportunities.
Further research was conducted, and it was discovered that IAC is the sole manufacturer of the Biomedical Work Bench, and they partner with a SDVOSB vendor. – Seva Technical Services, INC. A search in GSA revealed that Seva Technical Services, INC. is an authorized vendor and has a FSS contract.
6. BRAND NAME ONLY: This buy is estimated not to exceed $25,000 and this documentation will be posted along with the RFQ on e-Buy, as required by FAR 8.405-1(e). 7. Note that this determination satisfies the requirements of FAR 8.405-6. The requirement to prepare a written justification IAW FAR 6.303 does not apply to Federal Supply Schedules.
