Description
As published on SAM.gov.
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Pixley National Wildlife Refuge provides 755 acres of wetland habitat for migratory waterfowl and other water birds and relies on three deep groundwater wells for irrigation and flooding. This project will improve water reuse and reduce groundwater pumping demands, particularly during drought years. The contractor shall design and construct a water recirculation system consisting of approximately 1.2 miles of PVC pipeline connecting the wetlands¿ lowest topographical point to the existing pipeline farther east. The system shall include a pump at this low point to move water upslope for recirculation and critical irrigation. The contractor shall secure the pump station with a 12-foot-tall, gated chain-link enclosure topped with barbed wire. Excavated soil may be reused on refuge property, and restoration or seeding of disturbed ground will not be required.
The construction magnitude is estimated to be between $700,000.00 to $750,000.00.
