“The Agricultural Marketing Service has posted Draft Supplement 507 Salmon Products October 2024. Updates include:

addition of NOAA/SIP PMP requirements for graded products, QAD audit oversight section, removal of requirement for NOAA/SIP “Certificate of Loading” at time of shipment for canned salmon products, new requirement for contractor to perform checkloading examination for canned pink and red salmon at time of loading and issue a contractor’s certificate, added sesame to allergen statement, contractor’s retail label color requirement updated, shipping label required to include USDA Food Shield, removed requirement for delivery seals to meet ISO standards, verification of weights and compliance for 15% tail requirement shall be determined by the contractor and described in technical proposal, removed requirement for PUFI mark on shipping label, sodium requirements updated. Comments on the draft may be submitted to Mark Lemon at mark.lemon@usda.gov by November 1, 2024.”
