The information received will be used within Department of Public Works, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to facilitate the decision-making process and will not be disclosed outside of the organization. This announcement is not a request for proposals, but a survey of the market for potential sources.
No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. This notice does not constitute a Request for Proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose other than market research. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Department of Public Works, Fort Leavenworth, KS is seeking current relevant experience, personnel, and capability to work that includes but is not limited to the following:
demo and disposal of existing windows. The goal for this project is to replace windows and frame of more than 100 windows on the south side of Building 52. Most of the windows to be replaced are the original double hung, wood windows with an exterior storm window. The windows range in size but are most commonly 2’9” x 6’9”, 2’10” x 5’8”, 2’10” x 6’2”, 2’10” x 7’0”, 3’1” x 6’6”, and 3’8” x 6’6”. The windows are located on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of the building.
Replacement windows will to be aluminum-clad wood and relatively match the appearance of the existing historic wood windows being removed. These would be double hung, 2 over 2, double pane, and colonial red in color. Most window frames will require replacement. Existing interior casing / trim to remain and repair as needed. In addition to replacing the “standard” size windows, there are “non-standard” windows that need repaired.
The work to be done consists of furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials as well as performing all work in strict accordance with the drawings and specifications at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. All work performed by the Contractor shall result in a complete and functional window.
The contract to be awarded under this contract will be for construction in Fort Leavenworth, within the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) with a corresponding Size Standard of $45 million. Interested sources are invited to respond to these sources sought announcement utilizing their company letterhead in a Portable Document Format (PDF).
