A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are a reasonable number of interested small business concerns to set this future project aside for them. 16 APR 2024 5. Short Project Description: Dewatering the lock chamber will be required to perform this work. Dewatering will include install of closure system and maintaining a dewatered status for the remainder of the project. A replacement poiree dam lower closure (bulkhead slots, needle dam, modified headbay, or sheet pile wall) will need to be designed and installed for dewatering. During the dewatering the contractor will raise miter gates by picking.

The contractor will replace and rehab related components, to include contact blocks, anchor arms, pintle balls/bushings, and timber seals. Another component to this is to tension the diagonals and repair any structural cracking that is found.

a. Projects similar in scope to this project include:

Construction including dewaterings on lock or dam structures on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers and their tributaries.

b. Projects similar in size will include:

Removal and rehabilitation of miter gates or similar structures in which dewatering was needed. Projects should include managing a dewatering on a major river system to perform maintenance work. Examples of similar projects would be: Miter Gate Rehabilitations, Miter Gate Exchanges, Lock Chamber Dewatering’s. 12. Based on the definitions above, for each project submitted, include:

a. current percentage of construction complete and the date when it was or will be completed.

b. scope of the project c. size of the project d. dollar value of the project e. the portion and percentage of work that was self-performed f. whether the project was design/build or not To protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement, if any, that may arise from this announcement, information regarding the technical point of contact will not be given and no appointment for presentations will be made.
