Description

As published on SAM.gov.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, is seeking Justification and Approval (J&A) approval on a brand name sole source to use a Peerless model 42MF turbine pump and motor and Flygt model NP 3301 submersible pump, on the Wood River Levee, Deficiency Correction – Lower Wood River Pump Station Modifications Construction Contract, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).

The Wood River Levee District requested that the additional pumps being installed at Wood River Pump Station be compatible to those already in use to streamline equipment maintenance and their spare parts inventory. For compatibility, Baseflow pumps and Stormwater pumps for the Wood River Pump Station will be of the same brand.

The pumps must be compatible with the other pumps at the pump station, and aid in the overall system design for the multiple pump stations in the levee district as the pump stations operate together as a system to provide interior pumping capacity of the lower Wood River levee. Therefore, the Contracting Officer determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem only these sources available. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes.

No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice and any information provided will not be used as part of any subsequent solicitation requirement. No telephonic inquires will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
