MECHANICALLY DREDGING CONTAMINATED SEDIMENT FROM THE INDIANA HARBOR AND CANAL (IHC), AND TRANSPORTING THE SEDIMENT VIA SEALED HULL BARGES TO THE CONFINED DISPOSAL FACILITY (CDF) SITE LOCATED AT THE UPSTREAM END OF THE IHC. THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THIS DREDGING CONTRACT IS TO REMOVE MATERIAL IN THE IHC THAT REMAINED AFTER PREVIOUS DREDGING EFFORT, WHICH MAY INCLUDE UNCONSOLIDATED SEDIMENTARYMATERIALS, CEMENTED MATERIAL, OR OTHER HARD-DIGGING MATERIALS, AND MATERIAL THAT CONTAINS METAL CONTENT (SHAVINGS AND/OR TACONITEPELLETS).B. HYDRAULICALLY OFF-LOAD DREDGED SEDIMENT INTO THE CDF CELLS USING SLURRY WATER RECIRCULATED FROM THE CDF. DEBRIS AND UNPUMPABLE MATERIAL WILL BE SEPARATED FROM PUMPABLE MATERIAL, AND W ILL BE PLACED INTO THE CDF BY MECHANICAL MEANS.THE NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM CODE (NAICS) 237990 WITH A SIZE STANDARD OF $37.0M, THE ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE FOR THISCONSTRUCTION PROJECT IS BETWEEN $5,000,000.00 AND $10,000,000.00. 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE
