Description

As published on SAM.gov.

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY AND YOUR RESPONSE IS NOT AN OFFER. THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION DOES NOT COMMIT THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY ANY COSTS INCURRED IN PREPARATION OF ANY SUBMISSION TO THIS NOTICE, OR TO CONTRACT FOR SERVICES. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is conducting market research to evaluate industry’s capability to provide a shore power cable handling system that meets the government’s unique specifications.

The Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) Airfields and Pavements Branch (APB) conducts accelerated pavement testing (APT) at the Hangar 2 accelerated pavement test (APT) facility in Vicksburg, Mississippi. To accomplish this mission, GSL traffics full-scale pavement test sections utilizing two specialized heavy-vehicle simulators (HVS). The HVS requires high-voltage electrical power supply at discrete elevated outlet locations.

A shore power cable handling system is needed to improve testing efficiency and reduce the need for APB personnel to access the elevated outlet locations. The Government intends to award a single Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to procure the required shore power cable handling system. The DRAFT Description of Requirement (DOR) is attached. Please note this is subject to change.

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to obtain availability of vendors and to determine interest in participation before a Request for Quote (RFQ) is released for the required item. Respondents are requested to review the attached DRAFT DOR and submit responses to the following questions: Contact information: Interested organizations should respond by providing the Government the following information: point of contact, address, telephone, email address, and CAGE code.

Business Status (based on NAICS 335999): Please indicate the business status of your company (Socio-Economic Factors: 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business, Small Disadvantaged Business etc.). General questions(s): If any, relating to the DOR that need to be clarified prior to release of an RFQ.

Please provide the above information no later than 3:00 PM Central Standard Time on 03 April 2024. Responses should be emailed to Allison Hudson at Allison.B.Hudson@usace.army.mil and Jennifer Hoben at Jennifer.Hoben@usace.army.mil
