PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to award a service contract for the restoration of electrical paneling at the Beltzville Dam. The Beltzville Dam is located at 2145 Pohopoco Drive, Lehighton, PA in Carbon County. The Beltzville Lake and Dam Project is an integral part of the Lehigh River Flood Control Program.
This project, in addition to aiding in flood control along the Pohopoco Creek and the Lehigh River, will operate for water supply, water quality control, low flow augmentation in the Lehigh River and lower Delaware River and salinity repulsion in the Delaware River Estuary. Authorized purposes of this project are flood control, water supply and low flow augmentation. Secondary purposes are recreation and water quality control.
Due to the age of the electrical equipment, most of the existing panel breakers are obsolete and no longer made. It is becoming more and more difficult to procure replacement components for the electrical panels in both the administration building and intake tower. It was a recommendation from the most recent arch flash analysis to replace the existing electrical panels with new and readily available equipment.
The Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, and materials required to remove specified electrical panels and transformers located at the Beltzville Lake Administration Office and Intake Tower. The electrical equipment provided by the contractor shall meet all ANSI, NEMA and UL standards. The contractor will be responsible for the replacement of (9) electrical distribution panels ranging from Three Phase, 480v to Single Phase 120/208v, as well as (1) 75KVA 480v Delta 208/120v Wye transformer. All work performed by contractor shall be in accordance with NEC rules and regulations.
BASIS FOR SELECTION OF AWARD: Award shall be made to the offeror who is determined to be responsible and provides a qute that is determined to be fair and reasonable. Quote must meet or exceed the scope of work and delivery schedule to be considered for award.
