Description

As published on SAM.gov.

The two main generating units at the Cougar Powerhouse use butterfly valves to shut off the penstock water supply to the turbines. A single penstock is bifurcated into the two headers each equipped with a butterfly valve to isolate each turbine. These valves were originally placed in service in the early 1960’s. All the systems relating to the valves are becoming increasingly problematic. This is a construction project to replace the two (2) 90” butterfly valves and control unit systems to improve reliability and safety.
