NexSens Buoy -Based Lake Water Temperature Profile Systems

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Pittsburgh District, intends to enter into a Firm Fixed-Price contract on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) with Fondriest Environmental, 2091 Exchange CT, Fairborn, OH 45324-6355.

The contract is for maintenance of existing NexSens, buoy-based, lake water temperature profile systems at 12 District reservoirs: Allegheny Reservoir, East Branch Clarion River Lake, Tionesta Lake, Woodcock Creek Lake, Mahoning Creek Lake, Shenango Lake, Loyalhanna Lake, Michael J. Kirwan Reservoir, Berlin Lake, Youghiogheny River Lake, Tygart Lake, and Stonewall Jackson Lake. . The Statement of Work includes maintenance and service for existing NexSens, buoy-based, lake water temperature profile systems.

These systems are composed of a floating buoy platform, a datalogging and telemetry system, a waterproof marine enclosure, and a string of temperature thermistors. The period of performance will be a base and four options from the date of award. This is not a solicitation for competitive proposals, however, if any interested party believes that they can meet the above requirement, they may submit a capability statement to the point of contact listed in this Special Notice.

All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow USACE to be able to determine if the interested party can perform the requirement described herein.
