Amd 1: Update to Set Aside category. This service is for annual inspection, maintenance/repair, refill/recharge/discharge, and hydrostatic testing for all fire extinguishers utilized by DOTS and all MCoE Training Brigades for facilities and vehicles per Army Regulation. The services requested will not be for all extinguishers at one time but as they become unserviceable and/or they are due routine services over the course of time at numerous intervals and dates.
The estimated number of fire extinguishers per ordering period is 1,230 each. The contractor must be able to gain access onto Fort Moore, GA to pick up and/or deliver the various types or fire extinguishers one (1) time a month. The types of extinguishers requiring servicing include, but are not limited to Co2, and Dry Chemical in sizes ranging from 2.5 pounds up to 34 pounds.
MCoE organizations and DOTS have various types of buildings which will require Multipurpose Dry Chemical fire extinguishers such as Class A, B, and C. Extinguisher components requiring servicing and repair shall include, but is not limited to, O-ring, valve stems, gauges, hose bands and clips, pull pin, nozzles, or as deemed necessary, all other fire extinguisher components.
Type 1 fire extinguishers (Co2) can be inspected and refilled/recharged but cannot be serviced with non-Army parts so if parts are needed it will be returned to the customer. Contractor will ensure that all unrepairable Type 1 fire extinguishers (Co2) are fully discharged to facilitate proper turn in by customer. Type 2 fire extinguisher will be repaired or replaced by the contractor if it cannot be recharged or are damaged. See Submission of Offers
