Draft Horse Team

This is a new supply, purchase order contract to provide a replacement for the Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard (CGMCG) Draft horse team following the current team being recommended for retirement from the Fort Riley, Kansas Veterinarian team. CGMCG wants to procure 2x Draft horses no younger than four years old and no older than six years old.

Must be able to participate in capability events (Presidential Inauguration, Competitions, Ceremonies, Parades, etc.) to allow more opportunities for recruitment under the Army’s Soldier Readiness Program and showcase Fort Riley’s historic calvary tradition across the United States. The life-cycle replacement Draft Horses are requested to be no younger than four years old and no older than six years old. Must be same sex siblings all black with a blaze, no less than 17 hands in height.

Draft horses must have all vaccination UpToDate. Draft horses must be able to pass a full veterinarian examination by DOD Veterinarian team within 30 days of arrival can drive a carriage as a paired team proficiently, knows verbal commands, can back up and be determined capable by Horse Trainer to execute Presidential Inauguration NLT 08 January 25.
