Laboratory Equipment Protection Shields & Installation

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price purchase order to Turtle Shell Industries, LLC on a sole source basis. In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the Contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the product for the requirement listed below. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the NIH, National Eye Institute (NEI) intends to issue purchase order to Turtle Shell Industries for laboratory protecting shields and installation.

The protecting shields are needed to protect NEI’s laboratory assets in support of the Imaging Core Unit and Neurobiology Neurodegeneration & Repair Laboratory. By acting as a barrier against water damage, the shields prevent interruptions in research activities and reduce the need for equipment repairs, ensuring continuous progress. The Turtle Shell Industries’ protecting shields are unique, patented, and unparalleled in capability to safeguard laboratory equipment.

The unique and certified design ensures the highest level of protection for NIH research assets, maintaining operational integrity and continuous research progress in the NEI labs. Turtle Shell Industries’ products are unique in the market due to their patented design and customization. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes.

However, any party that believes it can fulfill the requirement as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates the ability to satisfy the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately five (5) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another company has the capability to satisfy this requirement.
