Description

As published on SAM.gov.

Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Purchase Order DLA Distribution intends to solicit only from one source and award a purchase order to Babington Technology, Inc. located at 159 Fabrication Way, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 under the authority of 41 U.S.C 1901 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The purchase order will be for a total of eight (8) sink kits that will be installed into Expandable Army Standard Family Shelters in support of the Navy’s 144-bed Expeditionary Medical Facilities.

These sink kits were originally designed, manufactured, and integrated into the new shelters by Babington Technology, Inc. The shelters are going through a refurbishment and require the same sink kits to be installed in the shelters. The Medical Assembly and Shelter Repair Division at DLA Distribution Hill, Utah will be performing the refurbishment of the shelters.

Purchasing the sink kits from Babington will allow the Navy to maintain configuration management (same system across the platforms); maintain form, fit and function in the platforms (the systems need to be interchangeable from one platform to the other and still connect to utilities and power hook ups with no engineering changes); repair parts compatibility to keep logistics requirements at a minimum (same system across the platforms); and eliminate any new repair/maintenance training requirements for support personnel.

The sink kits function as a system and include total stainless-steel cabinetry, doors, sinks and work surfaces; all plumbing and electrical components required for installation to include sterilization systems; all hardware required for installation/integration; on-board waste tank with integrated grinder/transfer pump; on-board hot water heater; and Level III drawing sets for installation/integration.

The North American Industry Classification System code for this effort is 332999 with a small business size standard of 750 employees. The Federal Supply Code for this acquisition is 4510. A solicitation will not be issued for this procurement action or posted to the single Government Point of Entry, the SAM.gov website.
