This Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) Notice is for market research, information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) or the US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA).
The WRAIR is seeking sources that have the knowledge and capabilities to provide support services specialized in animal husbandry, technical personnel, management, quality control, and operational functions required to support the Veterinary Services Program (VSP), at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research/Naval Medical Research Center (WRAIR/NMRC).
The non-personal support services include performance of animal husbandry, pathology and associated veterinary services within the WRAIR/NMRC at the Forest Glen Annex in Silver Spring, MD. The services provided shall include but not limited to:
• management and administrative support; • routine animal care (husbandry, nutrition, enrichment, hygiene and record keeping); animal handling, restraint, standard laboratory animal procedures, technical support, veterinary support, and program support of animal health surveillance, as required by the contract directives; • cage washing, sanitation and cleaning of all equipment, animal facilities, and animal support facilities; • provide training to WRAIR/NMRC animal users; • maintenance of all related equipment and minor facility repairs; • development and use of a contractor quality control program to ensure contractor compliance with all performance objectives, requirements and thresholds; • provide BSL1- BSL3 support to include management, caretaker and laboratory animal technician. • maintaining breeding programs, quarantine areas and specialized animal holding areas; • diagnostic pathology, imaging and clinical pathology and histopathology support Continuous quality animal care and pathology is the Goal and shall be provided in strict compliance with federal, state and local regulations and other guidelines.
