This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Firm-Fixed price purchase order to Life Technologies Corporation, Carlsbad, CA 92008 on a sole source basis to provide maintenance service for the QuantStudio™ 12K Flex OA Real-Time PCR System.
The instrument is used for clinical analyses of patient samples in the clinical chemistry section of the Department of Lab Medicine. Life Technologies Corporation is the only known provider with access to performance verified component parts, spare parts, software, technical support, upgrades and engineering resources to maintain the original operating specifications.
Life Technologies Corporation engineers are fully trained to install and repair their own equipment, troubleshoot problems and optimize the system with their proprietary diagnostic tools. Period of Performance shall be for a base year of twelve (12) months and two (12) month option years from date of award.
Scope of Work:
Coverage Includes:
Parts, labor, and travel for remedial repairs.
Planned Maintenance (PM): No charge for PM visits. Annual PM visit automatically scheduled within the contract period.
Response Times: Guaranteed priority response within 2 business days for instruments in LT’s Service Zones 1 and 2. Support Access: Priority telephone and email access to instrument technical support. Telephone and email access to application technical support.
Additional Services: Remote Monitoring and Diagnostic (Dx) Service.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this procurement 811210. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.
Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Each response should include the following Business Information:
a. SAM UEI.
b. Company Name, address, POC, Phone and Email address c. Current GSA Schedules or NAICS codes appropriate to this Award. d. Type of Company (i.e., small business, 8(a), woman owned, hubZone, veteran owned, etc.) as validated in System For Award Management (SAM). All offerors must register on the SAM located at http://www.sam.gov/portal/SAM/#1 e.
