As of 10 April 2024, this notice is being update to notfy vendors that this current effort is on hold until further notice.
The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD 20670 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Universal Synaptics (US) Corporation; 4066 S 1900 W STE B, Roy, Utah, 84067 (Cage Code: 350J1) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
The Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) has a requirement for requested services for the current Intermittent Fault Detection & Isolation System (IFDIS) test bench, which include a full system checkout, and reinstall of the Operating System (OS).
Once the OS is restored the system should work with and communicate with the other hardware components {environmental chamber assembly (S/N: 06154594), the shaker/vibration test system (S/N: 431), power amplifier (S/N: 5092), and test cabinet assembly (S/N: 001)} properly. US is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) that designed and custom-built the IFDIS at FRCSW. The software currently in use is proprietary and the intellectual property of US.
To maintain the production quality, US will evaluate and reinstall the OS of the IFDIS. For this reason, the government intends to procure these products on a sole source basis from Universal Synaptics (CAGE Code: 350J1). THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within fifteen (15) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered.
Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
