Intent to Sole Source FARO Arms Calibration & Recertificaiton

Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD, hereby gives notice of intent to award a purchase order to FARO TECHNOLOGIES, (Cage Code: 0VGY2), on a sole source basis in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The purchase order is anticipated to include a base year only.

This requirement is for the calibration and re-certification of four FARO arm and laser line probes for the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida 32212-0016, Building 101. The contractor shall inspect, certify, and provide a 12-month warranty for two FARO Arms systems and two Laser Line Probes. The period of performance is for one (1) 12 month base year.

FARO TECHNOLOGIES, (Cage Code: 0VGY2) based in Lake Mary, FL, is the only known source for the required calibration of the end item. FRCSE has procured multiple FARO Arms systems and they are the sole provider for maintenance and calibration support. No other sources are available. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.

However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be reviewed. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
