Oil level Indicators, EMALS, CVN 80

This notice (synopsis) is being published as required by FAR 5.201(b)(1). The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to issue a sole source contract action to Gems Sensors Inc., utilizing the only authorized distributor Standard Calibrations Inc. to manufacture and deliver eight (8) Oil Level Indicators RH (Part Number: 608310) and four (4) Oil Level Indicators LH (Part Number: 608311) in support of CVN 80 Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS).

The indicators are built to a defined specification for the EMALS Energy Storage Subsystem (ESS). NAWCADLKE requires the items to be an exact match as per drawings. The NAICS code associated with this requirement is 334519. The Government intends to procure the above items on a sole source basis under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C ) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The solicitation, when issued, will be for a firm-fixed price contract. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation which may be used by the government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice.

A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Hard copies of the solicitation and amendments will NOT be mailed to the contractors. The government will only accept electronic quotations.
