Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Industrial Pipe Cutting & Beveling Equipment (E.H. Wachs)

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regular (FAR) Part 5.1 and 5.2. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract using FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services, under the simplified acquisition threshold. This is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals. The statutory authority for this notice is 10 U.S.C.

2304(c)(1) set forth in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. Supervisor of Shipbuilding Overhaul & Repair, Groton, CT (SSGR) intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Illinois Tool Works, Inc. d/b/a E.H. Wachs, 600 Knightsbridge Pkwy., Lincolnshire, IL 60069, for the procurement of Industrial Pipe Cutting and Beveling Equipment.

All responsible sources may submit a capability statement clearly demonstrating the ability to furnish the requested supply, before 07:00AM EST 14 JULY 25, which may be considered by the Agency for a future procurement. Responses to this notice shall be electronically submitted to Andrea Cook at Andrea.A.Cook.civ@us.navy.mil and Stephanie Neale at Stephanie.L.Neale.civ@us.navy.mil. The Government will not pay for any information received.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This special notice is being issued for informational purposes only. The Justification & Approval for sole source is attached.
