The selected switchgear fully conforms to GPA’s requirements for connection to the GPA utility owned network.
Equipment, including switchgear, will not be permitted to connect to the 34.5 kV utility network unless fully conforming to GPA’s stated technical requirements All switchgear is constructed with uniform size (42” cell width), arrangement of operating devices, interfaces, controls, and indicators to facilitate ease of operation across multiple installations, uniformity of operating and maintenance procedures, warehousing of spare parts, and standardization of maintenance intervals, practices, and procedures.
All interlocks, indications, and controls are configured to operate in the same manner improving operator efficiency, predictability of operation, maintenance procedures, spares inventory, and operational safety. Breakers provided for the switchgear are fully interchangeable with other cells in the P678 Contractor provided switchgear lineup.
Switchgear is provided with the same control contact cluster configuration (mechanical and truck operated) and control wiring arrangement ensuring interoperability of breakers within the P678 substation and other co-located substations maintained and operated by GPA.
