NAVFAC NW GIS Support Services

Facilities Engineering Command Northwest (FEC NW) is responsible to Commander Naval Installations Command (CNIC) for managing all Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within the Northwest Region, including all Navy owned property within the 11 states that define the Northwest Region: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Alaska.

Asset Management (AM) is part of FEC NW and is responsible for the development and documentation of comprehensive planning studies and major Navy-wide construction programs including Military Construction, Special Projects, Demolition, and congressional initiatives, to be used as the basis of administrative or budget planning.

AM also manages and maintains data for the shore facility planning system using the internet Navy Facility Assets Data Store (iNFADS) which aligns with the GIS data at Navy Region Northwest.The major installations include Naval Base Kitsap - Bangor, Naval Base Kitsap - Bremerton, Naval Station Everett, Naval Magazine Indian Island and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. GIS is used by the Regional Commander and his staff as a decision support tool.

Additional users include Facilities, Public Works, Base Planners, Public Safety, and Environmental. Additional regional users include Public Safety, Environmental, and the Regional Operations Center as well as all Emergency Operations Centers at each installation.
