Description

The action is the award of a sole-source, follow-on production contract to Red Rock AS for an Advanced Motion Compensating Crane (AMCC), part number RMCK1650-10-28. This production requirement  is a direct follow-on to the competitively awarded Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) #W15QKN-18-9-1008 for the development and prototyping of the AMCCs. 

The authority for this action is granted by 10 U.S.C. § 4022, 'Authority of the Department of Defense to carry out certain prototype projects,' as implemented by the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 206.001-70, 'Exception for prototype projects for follow-on production contracts.'
