GE Large Cavitation Channel Materials

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for large cavitation channel material components. The compliant material is available solely from GE Vernova, as the required compound can only be purchased through GE. The NAICS code is 335314 and the business size is 750 employees. The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to GE Vernova.

The proposed action is for large cavitation channel components, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: GE is the only source of the required support, with no compatible material on the market. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to GE Vernova using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than 12:00 PM Noon 19 August 2026. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by 12:00 PM on 08/19/2026 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
