AN/UPX-50 Common Core Digital Interrogator (CCDI) Productionization

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole source, Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) BOA order to BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration of Greenlawn, NY (BAE) for the productionization of the AN/UPX-50 Common Core Digital Interrogator (CCDI), Part Number (P/N) 8605800-1.

The AN/UPX-50 CCDI is an update to the AN/UPX-50(C) DI to address obsolescence issues and to combine the AN/UPX-24 and the Digital Interrogator into one system due to can build restraints and crypto certification. BAE, as the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the AN/UPX-50(C) DI is the only company with the unique knowledge, experience, special skills, facilities, manufacturing techniques, and technical data required to perform these requirements.

This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The Government does not intend to use the provisions of FAR Part 12 for this acquisition.
