This Request for Information (RFI) initiates market research under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10 and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). The information herein only initiates communication with industry in order to assess market potential. No solicitation document exists at this time. This RFI constitutes no Government obligation to pay for information responding to this RFI and will not accept any responses as offers. Vendors should mark any proprietary information clearly and appropriately.

The Program Manager Ground Weapons Systems (PM GWS), Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), seeks industry input to identify potential sources for Parachute System 2 (PS-2) drogue release modification. The modification requirements are as follows:

Drogue release modification must use current release mechanism style. The modification should improve the drogue release lanyard and bungee. The modification should reduce or remove points of failure of the drogue lanyard and bungee. The modification shall increase the reliability and maintainability of the current release. The modification should shorten the horizontal side adjustment straps. The modification capability target date for the effort to begin is Quarter 2 FY25.

The modification shall meet or exceed all current safety requirements for the PS2 system. Airborne Systems owns the rights to the PS2 system and any PS2 specification files and data required for the modification would need to be obtained from them.
