Intent to Sole Source to 3M Company

Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source: The MCIEast Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533, hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to 3M Company on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is to provide a course through 3M Company’s Collision Repair Academy.

The applicable NAICS for this requirement is 611519 per the Performance Work Statement. This course is designed by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the products and tools that are currently in use by FRCEast. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from 3M Company, the original equipment manufacturer. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.

However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within four (4) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
