Notice of Sole Source Award - Two Georges: Parallel Lives in an Age of Revolution

This is a public notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 – Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions. The Library of Congress, Contracts and Grants Directorate, has awarded a sole-source firm fixed price contract to:

The University of North Carolina Press(116 S Boundary St. Chapel Hill, NC 27514). The work to be performed under the contract will be performed at the following location: The Contractor's facility and the Library of Congress. The period of performance of the contract shall run as follows:

11/15/2024 – 03/14/2025. It is valued at an amount below the simplified acquisition threshold (defined as $250,000 and below), but above $25,000 (the public notice threshold). The work shall consist of the following:

The Library of Congress requires contract support to purchase inventory of exhibit companion volumes to accompany the opening of the Two Georges exhibition.

The exhibit companion book, entitled Two Georges: Parallel Lives in an Age of Revolution is being produced by the University of North Carolina Press under the terms of a Series Agreement with the Library dated September 19, 2023 and a Supplemental Agreement with the Library dated August 27, 2024. The Contractor shall provide and ship 500 copies of the hardcover edition and 1000 copies of the paperback edition of the Work.

This announcement constitutes the only public notice, proposals are not being requested from other parties and a written solicitation will not be issued. This public notice accomplishes the following:

1. Notice of the Library's sole source award of this requirement to the business listed herein;

2. Synopsizing the requirements in accordance with the FAR; and 3. Publicly posting the approved Justification and Approval (J&A). The following attachments are included in this notice:
