The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), has a electrical construction requirement at one of its facilities at Moore Air Base, Edinburg, Texas.

Background: Building 6414 has an existing electrical distribution system comprised of an exterior main switchboard and various distribution transformers and panelboards throughout the facility. The existing electrical equipment is almost entirely original to the building and has exceeded its rated life. Equipment displays signs of water damage and corrosion. A two-phased project, the overall project will include replacement of the main service transformer, main switchboard, distribution equipment and associated feeders.

Project Description—Phase 1: New service transformer, exterior main switchboard and transfer switch to back-feed existing switchboard, and all the work defined in the project drawings and specifications to be posted at a later date is included in the scope of this project. The NAICS code for this project is 238210—Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors, with a small business size standard of $19 million. The estimated magnitude of the project is between $250,000 and $500,000.

The project will be set aside for small business concerns only. The solicitation will be posted on or about 30, 2024. It is the responsibility of interested parties to monitor this site for the solicitation and amendments, if any.
