Award - Development of Novel Drug Particles for Inhalational Therapy

This contract was awarded sole source and firm fixed price to CritiTech Particle Engineering Solutions, LLC due to their proprietary technology and ability to meet the government's specific needs to delivery long-lasting antimicrobials to the lungs would provide a novel, highly advantageous medical countermeasure that would be easily deployable with the Warfighter.

CritiTech Particle Engineering Solutions, LLC is the sole provider capable of developing novel, super-critical precipitated drug products suitable for inhaled drug delivery for the treatment of pulmonary infections. This vendor has a proprietary technology (Purcision) that relies on supercritical precipitated API to produce particles in the correct size for inhalation (0.5 – 5.0 ?m) with very high surface area and no drug excipients, which allows for high drug loads compared to other methods.

This vendor is the sole source of LSAM used for oncology programs and has a demonstrated track record as a formulations contract research organization (CRO). No other company found was able to deliver particles that match all the requirements simultaneously.
