RANGE SERVICES

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) requires selected deployable individuals to maintain weapons proficiency. In support of this requirement, DTRA maintains a cadre of qualified instructors able to provide weapon qualification training. This effort is to provide a safe area for DTRA-designated weapons instructors to conduct weapons training and qualification for DTRA personnel. It includes all required materials, to include access to weapons cleaning facility, necessary to conduct safe range operations.

The range must be within 60 miles of Fort Belvoir, Virginia. In addition, based on the fluid nature of the DTRA's Weapons Training Program, the logistical coordination involved to support this program requires a Range with the ability to reserve range times up to one (1) year in advance, year-round accessibility, and the ability to accommodate various type of firearms, range positions and distances.
