Description
As published on SAM.gov.
The BSTAR program is designed to enhance the proficiency of bomber aircrew by integrating innovative training solutions, implementing comprehensive training curricula, and addressing unique operational challenges within the B-1 bomber community. It is intended to enhance and sustain foundational airmanship, instrument proficiency, and crew coordination skills outside the primary Mission Design Series (MDS), using a high-tempo, low-cost supplemental trainer.
Performance data, training outcomes, and airmanship development trends from this effort will inform decisions regarding sustainment, scaling, and potential enterprise implementation of a steady-state BSTAR Companion Trainer Program. This initiative aligns with USAF strategic objectives to improve B-1 aircrew operational efficiency across its bomber fleet. This program will aim to aid the B-1 aviators through supplemental training throughout the aircrew members’ careers within AFGSC.
