Intent to Sole Source-48 RQS Automatic Cargo Parachute Releases

The 48 RQS is requesting the procurement of two types of Automatic Parachute Cargo Releases with different weight-ratings. Upon ground or water impact, the cargo release senses a reduction in tension and disconnects, separating the parachute from the payload which prevents the package from being pulled if winds increase. CLIN 0001- 2.5K lb Rated Cargo-Release, 7 EA (NSN: 1670-01-310-2875) CLIN 0002- 5K lb Rated Cargo-Release, 8 EA (NSN: 1670-01-337-4366) The purpose of this notice is to announce the 355 CONS's intent to sole source this requirement to a single vendor in accordance to Technical Order TO 13C7-1-5.
