NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AWARDED TO ORTHO-CLINICAL DIAGNOSTICS, INC. The 341st Contracting Squadron (CONS) – Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana awarded to Ortho-Clinical Diagonostics on a sole-source basis, a contract to perform preventive maintenance, administrative support, reagents, controls, calibrators, and transportation necessary to perform the services for the Chemistry Analyzer for the 341st Medical Group (MDG). Additionally, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics will provide a chemical analyzer and consumables.

Ortho Clinical Diagnostics is the sole manufacturer/source provider for their operating systems, devices, and any chemistry analyzer units made/sold by Ortho Clinical Diagnostics. Ortho Clinical Diagnostics holds multiple patents on dry slide technology and other technologies (wet chemistry) are not compatible due to the location of the analyzer, limited access to drains, and the need for a water system.

Only consumables and parts procured from Ortho Clinical as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) are suitable as reagents, and replacement parts and OEM consumables and parts are available only through Ortho Clinical authorized technicians and representatives.
