The 18th Special Operations Test and Evaluation Squadron (18 SOTES) requires multiple-phase training and/or flight training for pilots and navigators for the AT-802U aircraft. Flight hours will concentrate on basic aircraft maneuvers, approaches and emergency procedures for all crew members. Flight hours will further concentrate on taxiing, takeoff, and landings for pilots.

The contractor shall provide academic and AT-802 Instructor pilots who are trained, evaluated, qualified, certified, endorsed, current, and competent. The contractor shall evaluate, diagnose, critique, and document student performance, identify learning difficulties, recognize objectives not accomplished and prescribe and conduct remedial instruction as required to accomplish the requirements. Students shall receive 20 hours of flight training.

Training time may be broken up into multiple blocks of training to accommodate pilot proficiency and student, instructor, aircraft, or contractor scheduling limitations. Contract shall be considered fulfilled upon all students receiving 20 hours of flight training and simulator refresher course.
